The Fianna hunted the boar of Binn Ghulbain here, and Diarmuid died on the summit while Fionn let the water run through his hands. Binn means a peak. In a note of 1857 Standish Hayes O’Grady recorded that Conall, son of Niall of the Nine Hostages, was fostered on this mountain, and so was called Conall Gulban.
