Being of the sídhe
Némglan
Némglan
King of the birds of Conaire’s father, who sent Conaire naked to Tara.
When the young Conaire chased great white-speckled birds to the sea at Áth Cliath and overcame them, they let their birdskins fall and turned on him with spears and swords. One of them protected him: I am Némglan, he said, king of your father’s birds, and you were forbidden to cast at birds. He sent Conaire to Tara naked at the end of the night, with a stone and a sling, to be made king, and he set out the geasa of his reign.
