Son of Sengann, of the Fir Bolg: big and fierce and terrible to look at, the man they sent to spy on the newcomers. On a hillside he met Bres of the Tuatha Dé, found they spoke the same tongue, and parted from him in friendship, each with the other’s spear. In the first battle of Mag Tuired his sword took off Nuada’s arm at the shoulder. When the Fir Bolg would still not yield, the Tuatha Dé gave him his choice of the provinces of Ireland, and he chose Connacht.
