Wife of Cumhall, who was killed at Cnucha before their son was born. She dared not keep the child, so Bodhmall and Liath Luachra reared him in secret. Six years later she came to the forest, found him asleep in the hunting-booth and made a sleep-song over him. The Dindshenchas of Almu calls her the daughter of Tadg, and says Cumhall carried her off by force.

  • The Boyhood Deeds of Fionn A druid and a warrior woman hide a hunted boy in the woods. Years later a poet on the Boyne gives him a salmon to cook, and tells him not to taste it.
  • Fionn and the Burning of Tara For twenty-three years a man of the sídhe has played Tara to sleep at Samhain and burned it. Then a boy of ten, an outlaw, offers to keep it till morning.
